Tiffany & Co’s Famous Blue Box Cafe Will Close for Two Years – TownandCountrymag.com

Back in 2017, Tiffany & Co. finally took a cue from Breakfast at Tiffany’s and installed a cafe in its iconic Fifth Avenue store. The aptly named Blue Box Cafe is kitted out in marble Tiffany blue, and offers a Holly Golightly-inspired experience from $29 a head.

But for fans of the movie (and Tiffany’s) who haven’t made it in yet, there will be an extended wait. Page Six has learned that the Blue Box Cafe is slated to close for two years, as renovations begin at the brand’s Fifth Avenue flagship—and while most of the retail experience will be temporarily relocated to 6 East 57th Street, there aren’t any plans for an interim cafe. Instead, it’ll return with the rest of the renewed store sometime in 2021.

And for anyone hoping to snag a reservation last minute, it may already be too late. Bookings are handled through the website Resy, where it appears every day for the next month is booked solid. Page Six has it that the cafe will close “after the holidays,” though, so devotees interested in dining between December 19 and early January should keep an eye on the site.

The brand has opened Blue Box pop-ups in the past, though. This past summer, the Tiffany’s Beverly Hills outpost played host to a two-day cafe, which as the brand’s artistic director explained to the Los Angeles Times, “allows customers to, literally, step into the Tiffany Blue Box”—even if they’re not in New York.
