The Emperor’s Arrow
The Emperor’s Arrow by Lauren D.M. Smith is $1.99! This is a fantasy romance, so if you’re on that genre kick, pick this one up! It was winner of Harlequin’s 2015 So You Think You Can Write contest and features a warrior/archer heroine. Readers really loved the heroine, while others wanted a stronger romance.
Grand Prize Winner of Harlequin’s 2015 So You Think You Can Write contest
Debut author Lauren D.M. Smith delivers an epic fantasy romance in this soaring tale of a kickass warrior and the emperor she’s honor-bound to defend.
The bride candidates have been summoned. Their numbers are many, yet only one is an Amazzi warrior. Only one would give her life to protect him.
Evony of Aureline, warrior of her people, has no intention of becoming a hideous old man’s bride. Though her people have sworn their loyalty to the legendary emperor Galen, Evony knows little of courts and intrigue. It’s simply not her world.
Yet it’s on the palace training grounds where Evony’s archery skills gain her the respect of soldiers and legates alike. The emperor himself takes notice of the beautiful, ruthless warrior. In turn, the young, steely eyed Galen is nothing at all what Evony expected.
This man could very well conquer her heart. But does he feel the same?
As the rivalry among the remaining bride candidates intensifies and the plot for the throne unfolds, Evony must make a grave choice: fulfill her destiny and protect her people or follow her heart and pursue true love.
Either way, the honor of the Amazzi people and the future of the empire now rests with Evony of Aureline. For she is the Emperor’s Arrow.
I Kissed a Rogue
I Kissed a Rogue by Shana Galen is 99c! This is the third book in the Convent Garden Cubs historical romance series, but it can be read as a standalone. There’s a forced proximity element if that’s your catnip! Some readers found the pacing to be a bit slow, but others said it had a great blend of adventure and romance.
Once she spurned the man…
When the Duke of Lennox hires Sir Brook Derring, England’s best investigator, to find his daughter, Brook intends only to rescue the lady and return to his solitary life. He deals with London’s roughest criminals every day of the week; surely he should be able to endure seeing his first love again-the perfect girl who broke his heart…
Now her life depends on him
Lady Lillian-Anne Lennox has always done her best to live up to her father’s standards of perfection-at the cost of following her heart. When she’s kidnapped and her perfect life is shattered, Lila has another chance. Together, Lila and Brook navigate not only the dark and deadly side of London, but the chasm of pride and prejudice that divides them.
All In with the Duke
All In with the Duke by Ava March is 99c! This is the first book in the Gambling on Love series and is a gay historical romance. The description is giving me some hefty Pretty Woman plot vibes. Some readers felt the book wasn’t terribly realistic, but that didn’t deter them from enjoying the romance.
Max Arrington, the Duke of Pelham, vows to never again let a handsome face blind him to a man’s true intentions. But ten months of celibacy and lonely nights drive him to a decadent brothel, where a beautiful young man arouses his illicit passions as never before.
Tristan Walsh has grown tired of being used for men’s pleasure. But his latest client is different: commanding yet generous, Max makes him feel cared for as well as wanted. Yet Tristan knows he’ll never have the choice to leave the brothel and submit only to Max.
So when Max invites him to be his guest at his country estate, Tristan eagerly agrees to his terms—days to do as he pleases while Max tends to the dukedom, and nights spent together in wicked play. But when the “business arrangement” begins to deepen into something more, Tristan must face the fact that he has no true place in Max’s life—or in Max’s guarded heart…
Crown of Midnight
Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas is $2.99! This is the second book in the Throne of Glass series. If you picked up the first book when we featured it on sale the previous week, now you can continue the series. I wouldn’t recommend reading out of order, but if you’re hoping to binge on the series or slowly build up your collection of the series, grab this one!
