With TP-Link HomeCare, Your Home Internet is Fast and Secure

Available on the Deco M5 Whole-Home Wi-Fi System, Archer C5400, Archer C3150, and soon, Archer C2300, TP-Link HomeCare offers built-in antivirus control from Trend Micro. Better still, it includes customizable parental controls, new Amazon Alexa skills, and integrations with IFTTT.

I’ve been using the Deco M5 in my home for the past few weeks for a future article on the best Wi-Fi mesh systems for the home. From day one, I’ve been using the built-in TP-Link HomeCare solution with a lot of success.

On any given day, I have about 20 Wi-Fi connected devices attached to my network, including Macs, iOS devices, smart home products, and more. Thanks to TP-Link HomeCare, these devices are protected from viruses and other malware.

Anti-Virus Protection

With Trend Micro’s intrusion prevention system, my network is constantly safeguarding every connected device from outside malware and hackers, while malicious site blocking prevents users from accessing malicious websites. In doing so, the system is continuously scanning for virus patterns and eliminating the threats before they hit my home network.

Have a device already infected with a virus? Trend Micro will quarantine the device before it connects to your network while also offering steps to remove the infection.

Parental Controls

As the father of a 10-year-old daughter out of school for the summer, I’m always worrying that she’ll find something online that’s inappropriate.

With TP-Link HomeCare’s parental controls, I can breathe a little bit easier. With an app, I can create a user profile for my daughter and apply filters to the devices she uses the most. I can also limit the amount of time she can use the internet each day and have the system turn it off after a certain time each day.

Other TP-Link HomeCare Features

Upon first hearing about TP-Link HomeCare, I was worried that the service would somehow slow down my network. I haven’t found this to be the case. In fact, because of HomeCare’s quality of service (QoS) capabilities, I can now prioritize bandwidth by the device. This feature really comes in handy during the day when I’m working across multiple devices.

I’ll have more to say about TP-Link HomeCare in my upcoming report on the best Wi-FI mesh networks. In the meantime, for more on the products that support TP-Link HomeCare, you can visit the TP-Link website.
