The Coathangers unveil boisterous video for new song “Parasite” — listen

To celebrate the launching of their North American tour, The Coathangers have let loose a brand new song. Dubbed “Parasite”, it’s a piercing, rowdy cut that’s meant to serve as “an allegory for what we are witnessing in our country. It’s an expression of frustration,” guitarist Julia Kugel explains to WhatYouth. “A parasite eats you from the inside out. Disrupts equilibrium and destroys it’s host.”

The Atlanta punk rockers have shared an accompanying video in which they perform the song in chaotic fashion. Reflecting the utter zoo that is our American government at the moment, The Coathangers take turns wearing creepy horse masks. Check it out above.
