“Numba 1″ is a titillating jam featuring empowering mantras by reggae artist Jax. It was concocted by New York-based producer Maya Shipman, who goes by the moniker Suzi Analogue. The single is from a project she will be releasing on Friday called ZONEZ V.3. Analogue also shared a visual for “Numba 1″ (Feat. Jax), directed by Souldreamin, which pictures her confidently dancing solo, mimicking the style and essence of Pulp Fiction’s Mia Wallace. Analogue talked to The Fader about her connection with Mia Wallace, saying:
The track overall is about feeling amazing and making confident moves. In the visual, directed by Souldreamin, we wanted to re-create the epic scene from Pulp Fiction — one of my favorite movies — of Mia Wallace dancing and just feeling herself to the max. This song is our version of the turn-up instead of the Neil Diamond cover, haha. It’s important that we as artists can re-imagine our favorite visuals and see ourselves within them.

ZONEZ V.3 is out 5/5.
