Toronto’s Dante Leon isn’t known outside of a few guest spots and production credits (to be fair, those are for DVBBS) but his ease in navigating the rungs of the music industry should inform you as to his versatility, on prominent display with these two new singles. “Pedal 2 the Floor” is a buoyant bubblegum trap banger described by Leon as “a summer haters’ anthem.” Its flipside, “Fly Away,” is a mirror image in subject matter (summer loving) and in sound, a dexterous and bluesy neo-soul number.
