Affirmative

Back in the day I laughed at Chris Farley’s character Stuart Smalley on SNL and his affirmation “Because I’m good enough. I’m smart enough. And doggone it, people like me”.  I laughed, but I also learned.

Affirmations are powerful and can help change our state of mind, our mood and give us a sense of balance when things feel rocky. Saying an affirmation first thing in the morning stays with us and influences our decision making for the day. When a negative thought starts firing we have the power to refute it with a positive one.

Find an affirmation that resonates with you. Say it with conviction and make it a reality. As Aibileen said in The Help, “You is smart. You is good. You is important”.
